The
Music Department
Welcome
to the Music Department at Nonsuch High School. This is an extremely
exciting time for the department, with recent investment in music
technology and instruments resulting in our exceptional facilities.
These facilities have enabled us to move in new directions, whilst
still maintaining the more traditional aspects of music-making.
Nonsuch has a long tradition of excellence in music. In addition
to music in the classroom, there are numerous choirs and ensembles;
evening and lunchtime concerts; opportunities to take individual
lessons in school; and regular trips to concerts and workshops.
Over 350 pupils have instrumental lessons in school; these are
30-minute lessons taught during the school day on a rota system
by visiting peripatetic staff. Our key objective is to nurture
excellence and encourage creative music-making in pupils of all
abilities and backgrounds. Please browse the various sections
of the music site to find out about our curriculum provision,
and to listen to a sample of performance and composition work
from our pupils.
