Key Stage 4: (year 9 - year 11)
At the start of year 9, all students start the GCSE Mathematics course
of study. The schemes of work follow the National Curriculum program of
study. They aim to offer opportunities for you to build on your knowledge
from Key Stage 3 to achieve the best possible grade at the end of the
course. The course develops mathematical knowledge and encourages the
application to practical, investigative and problem solving situations.
Year 10 students who are fast-tracked work towards their GCSE examination
in June of year 10 and complete additional Mathematics in year 11. Non-fast
tracked year 11 students work towards their GCSE examinations in June.
In December of year 11, the pupils take part in a mock examination which
provides data for predicted grades.
