Nonsuch
is justifiably proud of the extensive extra curricular opportunities that
are available for girls throughout the school. There are currently over
40 different clubs and activities ranging from Amnesty International and
Astronomy to Tennis, Street Dance and Gospel Choir.
In addition, students are able to join a wide range of day and residential
visits, some of which include foreign study tours. There are regular language
visits to Europe and annual ski trips to Austria. The History Department
has organised trips to Moscow / St Petersburg and Washington. Next year
in 2012 some of the girls have the opportunity to visit China and Iceland.
There have been two very successful team building days for Year 7 and
Year 12 which included a wide range of activities and were very positively
received by both year groups.
In the autumn term the English Department ran a Literary Week with students
involved in many activities including a poetry quiz, interhouse fairytale
competition and debate on the morality of fairy tales. The school was
also pleased to welcome renowned author Jane Ure and poet Imtiaz Darker
who came to speak and inspire the girls in their own creative writing.
For the past 5 years the Sixth Form have run a very successful RAG week
raising thousands of pounds for different charities.
